Preliminary OSCOFAI Study Results Presented at AD/PD 2025

Findings from the OSCOFAI were presented at the 19th International Conference on Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s Diseases (AD/PD 2025), held in Vienna, Austria, from April 1–5, 2025. The research team presented results on the association between frequency of alcohol consumption and amyloid beta deposition, as well as on sleep apnea severity, mild cognitive impairment, and amyloid pathology. As part of the study methodology, sleep duration and sleep-related parameters were objectively assessed using wrist-worn actigraphy over multiple days, allowing for accurate measurement of habitual sleep patterns in dementia-free adults. These data were combined with cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers to investigate links between lifestyle factors, sleep disorders, and Alzheimer’s disease pathology.
